BEACON

Rather than warn people away this urban lighthouse welcomes people in and forms a striking marker that conceived as a secular space to draw people together, encourage dialogue, conversation and dreaming.

Derived from their traditional role of both marking danger and isolation, while at the same time guiding sailors towards the communal safety of sheltered harbours, it forms a series of conflicting spatial conditions that look both out and in, framing a series spaces between city and the sky.
